Independent India

There can be many facets of independence or freedom. We understand only those which we encounter or made to encounter. And it is in a sense impossible as well as impractical to look upon every single facet.

India is independent and we are part of this independent country. For our generation, it is really difficult to sense and feel the pain and agony of being treated as inferiors and slaves on our own soil. But still we get a little idea about it from the literature and historical incidents. And the history itself is more than enough to make us understand the disgust of that era. In spite of what we are facing and what we are going through now, the sense of freedom and the sense of equality provided to us constitutionally make us feel that we can voice ourselves. And this is not the last but at least the first precondition for being independent.

Every person has his or her own understanding of freedom, as the sense of freedom and independence is shaped by the circumstances, background and the people around that person. Of course our definition and sense varies at the micro level. But at the macro level, we are more or less coincide with each other's sense and perspective as that is shaped by the atmosphere and taste of the country.

This micro level differences will always be there as nobody can define the true meaning of freedom and independence as you cannot draw a line between being dependent and independent in absolute terms. Every action of ours however you try, in a way is dependent somehow on somebody.

Our effort should always be focused, how the macro level sense or definition is getting shaped and how our actions are going to justify and help in shaping that.

The right attitude with actions having positive intentions will definitely going to make the path easier. I wish and hope to see a more meaningful and apt sense of freedom and independence among us in coming future.
